I offer a wide ranging repair service on vintage pens, but I particularly welcome some of the more challenging repairs. I have extensive experience with Swan Visofil, Blackbird Topfill, Ford Patent Pen, Parker Vacumatic, De La Rue piston fillers, Eversharp piston fillers, Sheaffer Snorkel and Vac-fill etc. I do not work on Cross, Montblanc, Pelican or new pens as I do not have the parts.
The service provided for all pens includes dismantle and ultrasonic cleaning, replacement of all seals, hand polish of external surfaces (not buffing!) and tests for filling and smooth and efficient writing performance. The removal of deep scratches, electroplating and the replacement of broken parts will be charged extra.
Eversharp piston fillers and Vac-fills are serviced by replacement of the barrel seal and mount by a new plastic unit containing a nitrile ‘O’ ring. The ‘O’ ring guarantees smooth operation and full performance indefinitely.
I have developed special tools for the removal of ‘dings’ and dents in metal caps (including Parker 51/61, Sheaffer PFM, Crest. These have been effective in restoration to near perfect condition for gold and silver filled caps and they also work well on stainless steel caps).
Pens sent for repair will be acknowledged by return of post, and a quotation for repair will be sent if requested. Senders are advised to use Royal Mail’s Special Delivery service to provide insurance of value and assurance of delivery.
